Coach Poppy Flower Fragrance

Heaven in a bottle. Or, maybe, deliciousness in a bottle?

Let’s be real with each other for a second –– when I saw Coach was doing fragrance a few years back I was like, “.. Stick with what you’re good at.” Foot, meet mouth. I was purchasing a new bag and ended up getting a whiff of this prior to checkout. Do I even need to say that it ended up right next to the bag like a token of glory?

Perfumes and I have a long-standing relationship of being on-off for each other. We’re good for a while, we hit a stride, and then someone becomes careless and we go our separate ways. With this one though I always find myself gravitating toward it if I “need” something to wear, if I need a little pick-me-up or I just want that extra feminine touch.

Coach describes it as, “bright fruits with soft florals to capture the romantic side of the Coach Poppy attitude. Sparkling notes of citrus, lychee and cassis blend with water lily and jasmine petals to create an airy, lighthearted fragrance.”

I think it’s the crisp, clean quality of this that I love and the fact that it has a heavier base note that is not musky. Generally I wear this scent a lot more in the fall and winter, sometimes in spring, putting it aside during the summer when it feels a bit “too much” but for the most part it’s the anchor of the base note that I love.

Also I know it’s weird to admit but that sparkling quality that they say it has? I feel like you can smell that, almost like a scented champagne, and then the fruity overtones carry through.

Now if you don’t mind I’ll be off applying my second (or third) spritz for the day.
